CpHankow Incorporation Meeting and Introduction

Thank Lord that we are able to conduct the first incorporation meeting at 6 am Central Time and 7 pm Taiwan Time (Where Dr. Oliver serves as a missionary educator). It was full of encouragement and excitement. The board was established and an officer (myself) was assigned during the meeting.

Some introduction:

Brother Xuewen Huang is a member of the Chinese Mission in St. Louis, Light of Christ, Immanuel Lutheran Church Olivette. He is a senior Scientist, having been working in the agricultural industry for years. Growing up in Mainland China, he has a big heart for the Chinese mission, especially in Mainland. While he still works part-time and partially retired, he is taking some online theological courses to be better equipped for the mission work. He serves as our treasurer in the Board of Directors.

  • Rev. Dr Stephen Oliver teaches New Testament and Luther’s Theology courses at China Lutheran Seminary in Hsinchu, Taiwan. He also serves in the seminary administration as Director of the Graduate Program in Luther Studies, managing the Master of Theology in Luther Studies program. His heart and vision are focused on preparing servants of the cross for the great harvest in the Chinese world (John 4:35-38, Matthew 9:36-38).
  • He not only is interested in reaching out to Mainland with the Gospel through various means, but also personally visited the site of Hankow where the Concordia Seminary main buildings still stand intact and well maintained by the local government. He encourages us to not only envision what can be done today through free publications but also hope for what Lord may open up for us in years to come in the land where LC-MS pioneer missionaries had faithfully and diligently planted the seeds.

Rev. Shaun Daugherty served as a missionary to China more than 10 years ago. He was a great mentor who helped me to start this journey of ministry while I was in Shenzhen, China. Thank Lord that our collaboration grows stronger through this publishing mission work. He serves as Faith Lutheran Church & School Marietta, GA.

He has done various Chinese Lutheran projects, both copyrighted and free, including the Book of Concord, Lutheranism 101 (also for kids), Christian Dogmatics, and etc.
